Wendy lives in Amstenrade, NL with her italian husband Francesco and a cat Mister Bluey and a big saltwater aquarium filled with happy corals, colorful fish and funny sea creatures.

Wendy De Cicco-bij de Ley
Deze gepassioneerde kunstenares is als persoon net zo kleurrijk en verrassend als haar schilderijen.
Ze werd geboren in 1974 in het Limburgse Brunssum. Na vele omzwervingen woont zij al jaren in Amstenrade waar ook haar atelier Studio STIC is gevestigd. Haar kunstzinnige vorming genoot ze aan de Hogeschool voor Beeldende Kunsten in Sittard, waar ze de opleiding Illustratieve Vormgeving en Leraar Tekenen doorliep.

Naast schilderijen maakt Wendy ook tekeningen van bijvoorbeeld de bekende KiekeboeKAT, ze illustreert kinderboeken, maakt prints voor kunst-kaarten, interieur, kleding, stickers etc …
De stijl van Wendy is niet in beton gegoten. Vanwege haar sterk intuïtieve benadering, bepaalt de gemoedstoestand van het moment de vorm die het kunstwerk aanneemt, zonder tussenkomst van het denken. De naam van haar website is tevens haar slogan: She Thinks in Colors en illustreert het centrale belang van kleur in haar werk. Veel terug-komende onderwerpen zijn figuratief zoals ogen, katten, vogels en ook op muziek geïnspireerde abstracte composities. Haar werk is filosofisch van thematiek, waarin chaos en het zoeken naar balans en LOVE de rode draden zijn. De materiaalkeuze is erg wisselend; meestal gebruikt ze een combinatie van acrylverf en andere media zoals markers, spray, olieverf, neonverf, inkt en gouache. Als kunstenares zoekt ze graag de verbinding met andere kunstenaars, zoals Liliane Rempakis, Arlaque de Clerque Aat Remkes, Amber Delahaye en Esther Janssen.
